Harvest Song Selection Philosophy
At Harvest, it is our passionate desire to glorify God above all else through our worship. To that end, we spend a great deal of time praying and seeking the Lord over each worship set to ensure that we are following the Spirit’s lead, grounding ourselves in truth, and singing with all of our hearts. We are not overly concerned with whether a song is popular, what time period the song was written in, the name of the author who wrote the lyrics, or theological camp that produced it.
Therefore, the worship songs we sing are chosen according to the following three principles:
“God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.” John 4:24
“Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:9-11
“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” Colossians 3:16
“Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.” Revelation 4:11
